DESCRIPTION
An Aftercooler Core, also known as a Charge Air Cooler, is a component of a truck's engine that cools the compressed air after it has passed through the turbocharger. The core is made up of tubes and fins that allow hot compressed air to flow through them while cool air passes over the fins, reducing the temperature of the compressed air. This cooler and denser air helps improve engine performance and fuel efficiency. The specific Aftercooler Core with Part Number 3008493 is designed for use in certain models of Cummins engines.
