DESCRIPTION
A thermostat (part number 3690535) is a temperature-sensitive valve that regulates the flow of coolant through the engine of a truck. It is typically located between the engine and the radiator and works by opening and closing to control the circulation of coolant as needed. When the engine is cold, the thermostat remains closed to prevent coolant from flowing, which allows the engine to warm up quickly. Once the engine reaches its operating temperature, the thermostat opens, allowing coolant to circulate and regulate temperature. If a thermostat fails or becomes stuck in either an open or closed position, it can cause overheating or poor performance in a truck's engine. Regular maintenance and replacement of thermostats can help ensure proper operation and prevent damage to other components in a truck's cooling system.
