DESCRIPTION
A thermostat (part number 5337966) is a component of a truck's cooling system that regulates the flow of coolant to maintain the ideal engine temperature. It is typically located between the engine and the radiator and consists of a valve that opens and closes based on temperature readings from a sensor. When the engine is cold, the thermostat remains closed, preventing coolant from flowing through the radiator until it reaches operating temperature. Once the engine warms up, the thermostat opens and allows coolant to circulate through the radiator, where it is cooled before returning to the engine. This process helps to prevent overheating and ensures efficient operation of your truck's engine.
