DESCRIPTION
A Radiator Surge Tank, also known as an overflow tank or coolant reservoir, is a component in a truck's cooling system that collects excess coolant as it expands due to heat. The surge tank is typically located near the radiator and connected to it through hoses. As the engine heats up and the coolant expands, it flows into the surge tank, which serves as a temporary storage space. When the engine cools down, the coolant contracts and returns to the radiator. The surge tank also provides a place for air bubbles to escape from the cooling system, preventing overheating and damage to engine components. The ML241485 Radiator Surge Tank is specifically designed for use in certain truck models and meets OEM specifications for quality and performance.
