DESCRIPTION
The rocker cover is a component of an engine that sits atop the cylinder head and covers the rocker arms and valves. It is also known as a valve cover. The main purpose of the rocker cover is to prevent oil leaks from the top of the engine and to keep dirt and debris from entering the engine through the valve train. The rocker cover is typically made of aluminum or plastic, and is sealed to the cylinder head with a gasket. It may also include a breather system to allow excess pressure to escape from the engine.
