DESCRIPTION
The Front Crankshaft Oil Slinger (ME081743) is a small but important component located at the front of the crankshaft in a truck's engine. Its purpose is to prevent oil from leaking out of the engine by redirecting it back into the oil pan. The oil slinger consists of a circular metal plate with a raised lip that fits snugly around the front of the crankshaft. As the crankshaft rotates, the slinger flings excess oil back into the pan, ensuring that the engine stays properly lubricated without wasting any oil. While it may seem like a minor part, a faulty or missing oil slinger can cause serious damage to an engine by allowing oil to leak out and potentially causing overheating or other issues.
