DESCRIPTION
Power Steering, also known as hydraulic power steering, is a system that assists the driver in turning the wheels of a vehicle. The system uses hydraulic pressure from a pump driven by the engine to help the driver turn the steering wheel with less effort. The power steering pump is typically located on the engine and has a reservoir for hydraulic fluid. The fluid is circulated through hoses and into a power steering gearbox or rack and pinion assembly where it helps to turn the wheels. Power Steering allows for easier maneuverability of larger vehicles such as trucks by reducing the amount of physical effort required to steer, making it an essential component for comfortable driving.
