DESCRIPTION
The Fuel/Water Separator Filter (part number FS19736) is an essential component of a truck's fuel system. Its main function is to remove water and other contaminants from the fuel before it enters the engine. This filter is located between the fuel tank and the engine, and it works by separating water from the fuel through a process called coalescence. As fuel passes through the filter, any water droplets present in the fuel will be trapped by its hydrophobic element which repels water, while clean fuel passes through. The filtered out particles get collected in a bowl at bottom of filter which can be drained out periodically for maintenance purposes. This helps to prevent damage to engine components such as injectors or pumps that could result from contaminated or dirty diesel fuels.
