DESCRIPTION
An Aftercooler (Part Number 3045769) is a device used in diesel engines to cool the compressed air after it has been compressed by the turbocharger. The primary function of the Aftercooler is to remove heat generated during the compression process, which increases air density and improves engine efficiency. It is typically located between the turbocharger and intake manifold and consists of a series of tubes through which hot compressed air flows, surrounded by fins that facilitate heat transfer to ambient air. This cooled air then enters the engine's combustion chamber, resulting in improved fuel economy, reduced emissions and increased power output.
