DESCRIPTION
The Air Compressor Assembly (Part Number: 207345) is a crucial component of a truck's braking system. It is responsible for compressing air and sending it to the air tanks, which in turn power the brake system. The assembly typically consists of a compressor, governor, unloader valve, and check valve. The compressor draws in air from the environment and compresses it to a high pressure before sending it to the tanks. The governor controls the compressor's operation by regulating its speed based on the pressure within the tanks. The unloader valve releases excess pressure from the compressor head when it reaches a certain level, preventing damage to the system. Finally, the check valve ensures that compressed air can only flow in one direction - towards the tanks - preventing backflow and maintaining proper function of the assembly. Overall, without an Air Compressor Assembly, a truck's braking system would not be able to operate effectively or safely during use on roadways.
