DESCRIPTION
An Air Flow Metering Orifice is a component of the fuel injection system in a truck that helps to regulate the flow of air into the engine. It is typically located between the air filter and throttle body, and consists of a small aperture or hole that restricts airflow. This restriction causes a pressure drop, which is measured by sensors in the engine control module to determine how much fuel to inject into the engine. The size of the orifice can be adjusted to optimize performance for different driving conditions, such as high altitude or heavy loads. Proper maintenance and cleaning of this component is important for ensuring accurate readings and optimal engine performance.
