It is responsible for providing a pathway for air to flow between the cylinder heads, ensuring that the engine operates efficiently and smoothly. This connection is typically located at the top of the engine block and consists of two metal pipes that are joined together with a rubber hose. The rubber hose allows for flexibility in the connection, which helps to prevent vibration and noise from being transmitted throughout the engine. Without this component, air flow between cylinders could be restricted leading to decreased performance and potential damage to the engine over time.
