DESCRIPTION
An Air Starting Motor, also known as an air starter or pneumatic starter, is a component used in heavy-duty trucks to start the engine. It is powered by compressed air and operates independently of the truck's battery or electrical system. The air starting motor delivers high torque at low speeds, making it ideal for starting large diesel engines. It consists of a turbine that is driven by compressed air and connected to the engine's crankshaft through a gear train. When activated, the motor spins the engine until it reaches sufficient speed to continue running on its own. Air Starting Motors are commonly found in applications where electric starters may not be reliable or practical, such as marine vessels or industrial equipment.
