DESCRIPTION
An air screen, also known as a air cleaner or a air filter, is an essential component of a truck engine that removes dust and debris from the incoming air before it reaches the engine. The air screen consists of a metal or plastic housing that contains one or more pleated filter elements made of paper, foam or cotton gauze. As the engine sucks in fresh air through the intake system, it passes through the filter element(s) which traps dirt particles while allowing clean air to flow through to the engine. A clogged or damaged filter can restrict airflow and lead to reduced performance and fuel efficiency. Therefore, regular replacement of the air screen is recommended to maintain optimum engine health and longevity.
