DESCRIPTION
A flexplate assembly is a component that connects the engine to the transmission in an automatic transmission vehicle. It is a circular plate that is bolted to the crankshaft of the engine and has teeth on its outer edge that engage with the starter motor to crank the engine. The flexplate assembly is designed to absorb and dampen the torque fluctuations that occur during engine operation. The part number 217383 is a flexplate assembly made by Cummins® for commercial trucks.
