DESCRIPTION
A main bearing kit is a set of bearings that support the crankshaft in an engine. The crankshaft is the component that converts the up-and-down motion of the pistons into rotational motion to move the vehicle. The main bearings are located in the engine block and provide a surface for the crankshaft to rotate on as well as reduce friction between it and other components. The kit includes all of the necessary bearings for one engine, typically including an upper and lower bearing for each main journal on the crankshaft.
