DESCRIPTION
The Connecting Rod .010 Bearing (part number 556351) is a circular insert made of high-strength material that sits between the connecting rod and the crankshaft. Its purpose is to reduce friction and wear on the engine by providing a smooth, low-friction surface for the connecting rod to pivot on as it moves up and down. The .010 measurement refers to the thickness of the bearing, which must match precisely with other engine components for optimal performance. If this bearing becomes worn or damaged, it can cause excessive noise, vibration, or even catastrophic engine failure. Therefore, regular inspection and replacement of these bearings is critical for maintaining a healthy engine.
