DESCRIPTION
A Main Bearing Kit, also known as a crankshaft bearing kit, is a set of bearings that support the crankshaft in an internal combustion engine. The kit typically includes both upper and lower bearings and may include thrust washers. The main bearings are located in the engine block and support the weight of the crankshaft as it rotates within the engine. They also help to reduce friction between the crankshaft and engine block, allowing for smooth operation. Over time, main bearings can wear down due to high mileage or lack of proper lubrication, leading to increased vibration and noise from the engine. A Main Bearing Kit is used to replace worn or damaged main bearings in order to restore proper engine function.
