DESCRIPTION
A Crankshaft Thrust Bearing is a component that is used to limit the axial movement of the crankshaft in an engine. It works by absorbing the thrust load generated by the connecting rod as it pushes against the crankshaft during operation. The bearing is located between the crankshaft and the engine block and consists of two halves, one stationary and one rotating with the crankshaft. The stationary half is usually made of steel while the rotating half is made from a softer material like bronze or aluminum alloy to minimize wear on both parts. Proper maintenance and replacement of worn bearings can prevent excessive wear on other engine components and prolong engine life. Part number C6204278500 refers to a specific model or size of Crankshaft Thrust Bearing used in various trucks.
