DESCRIPTION
A crankshaft thrust bearing is a component of an internal combustion engine. The purpose of this part is to prevent the crankshaft from moving axially, or back and forth. It is located between the engine block and the crankshaft, typically at the rear of the engine. The bearing consists of two halves that fit together around the crankshaft journal. These halves are made of a soft material that can withstand high loads and friction without causing damage to either component. The part number for this specific component is 3944166.
