DESCRIPTION
A main bearing is a component in an engine that supports the crankshaft and allows it to rotate smoothly. It is located in the engine block and consists of two halves that fit around the crankshaft journal. The main bearing reduces friction between the crankshaft and the engine block by providing a smooth surface for them to slide against each other. Additionally, it helps distribute the weight of the rotating assembly evenly across the engine block. The part number for this component is 205142.
