DESCRIPTION
A main bearing is a crucial component in the engine of a truck. Its primary function is to support the crankshaft, which converts the reciprocating motion of the pistons into rotational motion. The main bearing is located in the engine block and consists of an inner shell and an outer shell. The inner shell fits tightly around the crankshaft, while the outer shell is bolted securely to the engine block. The space between these two shells is filled with oil, which acts as a lubricant to reduce friction and wear on both surfaces. A main bearing must be made from high-quality materials and designed to withstand extreme heat, pressure, and vibration for long periods of time without failing or causing damage to other parts of the engine.
