DESCRIPTION
Belt Tensioner (Part Number: 4984044, Make: Cummins®): The belt tensioner is a mechanical device used to maintain proper tension on the engine's accessory drive belt. It is designed to prevent slippage and ensure optimal power transmission between the engine crankshaft pulley and various engine accessories such as the alternator, power steering pump, and air conditioning compressor. By applying the appropriate amount of tension, the belt tensioner helps to maximize the efficiency and longevity of the belt system, keeping the engine components working in sync.
