DESCRIPTION
The Camshaft Pilot, also known as a camshaft bearing, is an essential component in the engine of a truck. It supports the camshaft and helps it rotate smoothly while maintaining proper alignment with other engine components. The pilot is typically made of steel or bronze and is inserted into the cylinder block or head to aid in reducing friction between the camshaft and engine block. It also helps to prevent excessive wear on both components, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of the engine. Without a properly functioning camshaft pilot, the engine may experience poor acceleration or misfires which could ultimately lead to costly repairs.
