DESCRIPTION
The Cam Assembly, also known as the camshaft, is a vital component of a truck's engine. It is responsible for opening and closing the valves in the engine at specific intervals to allow air and fuel to enter and exhaust to exit. The Cam Assembly is made up of several lobes that rotate on a shaft. As the lobes rotate, they push against lifters which then push against rocker arms which ultimately open and close the valves. The Cam Assembly is typically made from high-quality materials such as steel or cast iron to withstand the high pressures and temperatures within an engine. It is designed to be durable and long-lasting but may need replacement over time due to wear and tear from use.
