DESCRIPTION
The Camshaft Cover, also known as the Valve Cover, is a component that sits on top of the engine cylinder head and covers the camshaft(s) and valve train. The cover is typically made of metal or plastic and is designed to keep oil from leaking out of the engine while also preventing dirt and debris from entering into the engine. It is usually held in place by bolts or screws and has a gasket between it and the cylinder head to ensure a tight seal. The Camshaft Cover may also have additional components attached to it, such as spark plug wires or breather hoses. Proper maintenance of this component is important for ensuring efficient engine performance and preventing oil leaks which can lead to damage over time.
