DESCRIPTION
A camshaft is a cylindrical shaft that controls the opening and closing of the engine's valves. It is an essential component of a vehicle's engine, responsible for regulating the intake and exhaust of air and fuel. The camshaft is driven by the crankshaft through a timing belt or chain, and it has specially designed lobes that push against the lifters, which in turn move the pushrods, rockers, and valves. The shape of these lobes determines how much air and fuel enter the engine cylinders and how much exhaust gas exits them.
