DESCRIPTION
A camshaft is a cylindrical rod with several lobes that open and close the engine's valves at specific intervals. It is one of the most critical components of an internal combustion engine as it determines the timing and duration of fuel injection and exhaust gas recirculation. The camshaft rotates at half the speed of the crankshaft, which allows for precise valve control.
