DESCRIPTION
A Camshaft is a cylindrical shaft with oblong lobes, which are utilized to open and close the engine valves. The camshaft is driven by the crankshaft via a timing chain or belt. The lobes on the camshaft raise and lower the pushrods, which in turn operate the rocker arms that open and close the valves. A properly designed camshaft can enhance engine performance by increasing horsepower and torque at specific RPM ranges. Part number 3895805 refers to a specific camshaft model used in certain truck engines.
