DESCRIPTION
The camshaft is a crucial component of an internal combustion engine. It is responsible for operating the engine's valves, which in turn control the flow of fuel and air into and out of the cylinders. The camshaft is located in the cylinder head and is driven by the crankshaft via a timing belt or chain. As the camshaft rotates, its lobes push against lifters or followers that operate the valves. The shape and size of these lobes determine how much air and fuel can flow into each cylinder, as well as how efficiently exhaust gases are expelled. The 3968381 camshaft is designed for use in certain models of heavy-duty trucks, ensuring reliable performance under demanding conditions.
