DESCRIPTION
A camshaft is a cylindrical shaft that rotates within the engine and operates the intake and exhaust valves. The 3979506 camshaft is a specific part number used in certain truck models. The camshaft is driven by the crankshaft through timing gears or a timing chain, and its lobes actuate the pushrods, which in turn operate the valve lifters or rocker arms.
