DESCRIPTION
A camshaft is a vital component of an internal combustion engine. It is responsible for opening and closing the engine's valves at precise intervals, allowing air and fuel to enter the cylinders while expelling exhaust gases. The camshaft has a series of lobes that control the valve timing, with each lobe corresponding to one intake or exhaust valve. As the camshaft rotates, these lobes push against lifters or followers that in turn move the valves up and down. The 5267498 is a specific part number for a camshaft used in trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles, but its design and function remain similar to other types of camshafts found in different engines. Without a properly functioning camshaft, an engine will not run efficiently or may not run at all.
