DESCRIPTION
The distributor cap is a component of the ignition system in an internal combustion engine. It is responsible for distributing electrical current from the ignition coil to each spark plug in the correct firing order. The distributor cap sits atop the distributor and contains contact points that correspond with each spark plug wire. When the rotor inside the distributor spins, it passes by these contact points, sending electrical current to each spark plug at the right time. The 4090381 is a specific part number for a distributor cap designed for use in certain truck models.
