DESCRIPTION
The clamping plate, part number 4944178, is a component of a truck's engine assembly. Its purpose is to secure the cylinder head to the engine block with even pressure. The plate is typically made of high-strength steel and features bolt holes that align with those on the block and head. During installation, the plate is placed over the cylinder head studs and tightened down using nuts or bolts, compressing the head gasket in between. Proper torque specifications must be followed to ensure a leak-free seal and prevent warping or cracking of the cylinder head.
