DESCRIPTION
The Clamping Plate (part number 423260) is a component of a truck's braking system. It is typically made of metal and its purpose is to secure the brake shoe to the brake spider, which in turn is attached to the axle. The clamping plate applies pressure to the brake shoe, causing it to press against the drum and slow or stop the rotation of the wheel. Without a properly functioning clamping plate, braking performance can be compromised, leading to longer stopping distances and increased risk of accidents.
