DESCRIPTION
The compressor clutch, also known as part number 206250, is an important component of a truck's air conditioning system. It is responsible for engaging and disengaging the compressor that pressurizes the refrigerant and circulates it through the system. The clutch consists of an electromagnet that when energized, pulls a plate against the pulley to drive the compressor. When de-energized, it releases the plate and disengages from the pulley. This process allows for precise control over the air conditioning system and can help improve fuel efficiency by reducing unnecessary strain on the engine. If your truck's air conditioning is not functioning properly, it could be due to a faulty compressor clutch.
