DESCRIPTION
A Flexible Coupling is a device that connects two shafts together at their ends for the purpose of transmitting power. The 4917217 model is specifically designed for use in trucks, and it allows for some misalignment between the two shafts while still maintaining a connection. This helps to reduce vibration and wear on the drivetrain components, resulting in smoother operation and longer lifespan. The flexible coupling is made up of two halves that are bolted together on either side of the shafts, with a rubber or plastic insert in between to absorb shock and allow for movement. It is an important component in ensuring efficient power transmission and preventing damage to other parts of the truck's drivetrain system.
