DESCRIPTION
A Charge Air Cooler, also known as an Intercooler, is a component that cools the hot compressed air coming from the turbocharger before it enters the engine. This results in denser air being delivered to the engine, which improves combustion and increases horsepower. The Charge Air Cooler typically consists of a series of tubes or fins through which air flows and is cooled by either ambient air or a liquid coolant. It is commonly found in diesel engines and high-performance gasoline engines. Part number 4090271 refers to a specific model of Charge Air Cooler used in various truck models.
