DESCRIPTION
The Cooler Plate with part number 3970204 is a genuine Cummins® part that is used in diesel engines to cool the engine oil. It is a flat metal plate that is installed between the engine block and the oil filter housing, and it has a series of small channels that allow the engine oil to flow through it. As the oil passes through the cooler plate, it is cooled by the engine coolant that circulates around it.
