DESCRIPTION
The Rear Cover, also known as differential cover or rear end cover, is a component that encloses and protects the differential gears and bearings. It is typically made of durable materials such as steel or aluminum to withstand the harsh conditions of the road. The cover is bolted onto the rear axle housing and contains gear oil to lubricate and cool the differential components. It also serves as a mounting point for various suspension components such as sway bars or traction bars. A properly installed rear cover can prevent debris from entering the differential, improve heat dissipation, and add an extra layer of protection against damage from rocks or other hazards on off-road terrain.
