It contains intake and exhaust ports, combustion chambers, valves, and valve springs. The cylinder head provides a sealed environment for fuel combustion and compression to take place. It is usually made of aluminum or cast iron to withstand high temperatures and pressure. The cylinder head plays a significant role in determining the engine's performance by allowing air and fuel mixture to enter while expelling exhaust gases. It is also responsible for dissipating heat from combustion to prevent overheating of the engine.
