DESCRIPTION
The Cylinder Head, also known as the engine head, is a crucial component of an internal combustion engine. It is responsible for sealing the combustion chamber and contains the intake and exhaust valves, spark plugs (in gasoline engines), and fuel injectors (in diesel engines). The cylinder head is typically made of cast iron or aluminum alloy to withstand high temperatures and pressure. It sits on top of the engine block and is bolted down with head bolts. The cylinder head allows air and fuel into the combustion chamber while expelling exhaust gases out through the exhaust system. Additionally, it houses various sensors to monitor engine performance such as temperature sensors, knock sensors, or camshaft position sensors. Cylinder heads are manufactured to precise specifications for each specific make and model of vehicle to ensure proper fitment and optimal performance.
