DESCRIPTION
The Cylinder Head (part number 4988080) is an essential component of the engine that sits atop the engine block and houses the combustion chambers. It is responsible for sealing in the high-pressure gases created during combustion, as well as directing air and fuel into the cylinders and expelling exhaust gases out of them. The cylinder head contains intake and exhaust valves, valve springs, retainers, and locks that control fuel flow to the cylinders. Additionally, it houses spark plugs that ignite the air/fuel mixture in each cylinder. A properly functioning cylinder head is crucial for optimal engine performance, as it ensures efficient fuel combustion and power output.
