DESCRIPTION
A cylinder liner shim, also known as a spacer, is a thin piece of material placed between the cylinder liner and engine block in diesel engines to adjust the piston protrusion and maintain proper compression ratio. The shim is designed to match the contour of the cylinder bore and can be made from various materials such as steel or copper. Proper placement of the shim ensures that the piston is at the correct height in relation to the crankshaft, preventing damage to both components. The 5374259 model is a specific part number for a cylinder liner shim used in certain truck engines.
