DESCRIPTION
A dipstick is a long, thin metal rod that is inserted into the engine oil reservoir to measure the level of oil in a truck's engine. The dipstick has markings on it to indicate the minimum and maximum levels of oil required for proper functioning of the engine. When checking the oil level, the dipstick should be removed, wiped clean and then reinserted into the reservoir to get an accurate reading.
