DESCRIPTION
The dipstick with part number 5308957 is a component of a truck's engine that is used to measure the level of oil in the engine. It is usually made of metal or plastic and has markings on it that indicate the minimum and maximum levels of oil. The dipstick is inserted into the engine through a tube, which is located near the oil filter or near the front of the engine. To check the oil level, the driver should park on a level surface, turn off the engine, wait for a few minutes for the oil to settle, then pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag. After reinserting it into its tube, they should remove it again to read where on its markings lie between maximum and minimum levels. If necessary, they can add more oil until reaching an appropriate level indicated by markings on one side of dipstick.
