DESCRIPTION
Ring Dowel Pin: The ring dowel pin, also known as a locating pin, is a cylindrical component that is used to align two mating parts in an engine or transmission. It has a flange on one end and a groove around the circumference. The flange prevents the pin from moving too far into one of the parts, while the groove provides clearance for any burrs or debris that may be present on the surface of the hole. The ring dowel pin ensures accurate positioning of critical components such as pistons, camshafts and crankshafts to prevent misalignment and subsequent engine failure.
