DESCRIPTION
The Driver Mandrel (ST12289) is a component of the truck's braking system. It is a cylindrical shaft that rotates and transmits power from the brake chamber to the slack adjuster, which in turn actuates the brakes. The driver mandrel is typically made of steel and has a splined end that connects to the slack adjuster. It also has a camshaft on one end which engages with the brake shoes to apply pressure and stop the vehicle. The driver mandrel plays an important role in ensuring safe operation of the vehicle by controlling its speed and bringing it to a stop when necessary.
