DESCRIPTION
The Digital Probe Unit is an electronic component used in diesel engines to measure the fuel injection timing. It replaces the traditional mechanical governor system and provides more accurate control of injection timing, resulting in improved engine performance and fuel efficiency. The unit consists of a sensor that detects the position of the engine's crankshaft, which is then processed by a microprocessor to determine the optimal timing for fuel injection. This information is then transmitted to the engine's electronic control module (ECM) for implementation. The Digital Probe Unit is commonly found in heavy-duty trucks and other large diesel-powered vehicles.
