An Ignition Coil is an electrical component found in gasoline-powered engines that is responsible for converting the low voltage from the battery into high voltage needed to ignite the fuel in the engine. The Ignition Coil receives a signal from the vehicle's computer or distributor, which triggers it to release a burst of energy through its coil. This energy then travels through a wire to the spark plug, creating an electric spark that ignites the fuel mixture in the engine's combustion chamber.
